l33t speak: how to sound "c00l" on the internet

I was having a chat with a friend today, and I thought hey, wouldn't it be fun to post a blog about how to sound cool on the internet! That's when he told me about l33t speak. So I did what any good blonde would do: I Googled it.

First course of action: the good old fashioned Urban Dictionary. http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=l33t

Apparently, l33t speak was born back in the 1980's, "hackers that didn't want their websites, newsgroups, etc, to be picked up in a simple keyword search began using numbers to replace certain letters (mostly vowels) such as A = 4 or E = 3."

Another cool link to translate stuff into l33t: http://www.brenz.net/services/l337Maker.asp

Have fun!
